  • Joining the Social Forums

These forums are provided as places to discuss things other than PowerBASIC Programming.

    Hardware, Software, OS, & Networking

This forum is available to all Registered Members. Topics are mostly "technical" and of general interest to the PowerBASIC Community. Topics do not have be related directly to PowerBASIC.

    Café Vivian (Opt In*)

Much like the old Café PowerBASIC, but under New Management. For the comfort of other patrons, boisterous conversations will be escorted to The Back Room.

    The Back Room (Opt In*)

Politics, religion, and other exciting topics, still within the limits of the old Café. Civil behavior and respect for others is a requirement of membership.

    * If you do NOT opt-in to these forums,
    • Café Vivian and Back Room post will not appear on the forum list,
    • They will not be included when you click NEW POSTS, and
    • They will not be included in any Search Results.
If that sounds good to you, do nothing. You're welcome.

To Opt In and gain access to the PowerBASIC Social Forums...

    SHORT VERSION
    1. Send a forum PM to Membership indicating which social forum(s) you want to join.
    STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
    1. Click on Messages next to your name at the very top of this forum window. (Pro tip: open Messages in a new browser tab, so you can refer back to these instructions.)
    2. Click the light blue Compose New button.
    3. In the first field, enter Membership as the message recipient.
    4. Enter subject: Social Forums
    5. Message: Tell us which forums you'd like to join.
    6. Bonus points: Tell us what you think about the Opt-In system.
    7. Click the Post button.
Note that "Membership" is a no-reply mailbox, so unless there's a problem the only answer you will receive will be the appearance of the new forums when you log in.

If you change your mind later you may use the same process to Opt Out at any time.
