Coming soon in a couple weeks will be Microsofts Build 2016 conference.

While most may not actually go to build (it costs money and likely registration fills up quick), Microsoft does a nice job of putting videos of most of it online within a short time after each session ends, so check out the web site.
Does it really matter anyway ?
Absolutely! Microsoft usually explains much of its plans and roadmaps the future of Windows there.
One of the interesting things to look for this build is what Microsoft plans for Xamarin.
Microsoft recently purchased Xamarin who makes tools for building cross-platform apps using Microsoft tools. While this may not be of big interest to PB'ers right now (we can only code for x86 Windows), it is important because it does affect the future of programming in general. Developers can build for Android and IOS as well as Windows using their tools and this can affect how your customers look at software (will they start expecting IOS versions of your apps?).

Another topic to look for is Project Centennial, which does affect PB users. Project Centennial will be a bridge for WIN32 apps so one can create install programs which will work in the Windows Store. This means PB'ers should be able to create apps for the Windows Store.
Once Build starts and I get to watch some of the talks online, I hope to report back anything I learn which PB'ers will benefit from.
