  • Visual Studio Code Extension

I'd like to see a Visual Studio Code language extension written for PowerBasic so I can use that IDE for an editor. An overview is here: https://code.visualstudio.com/api/la...sions/overview

I'm willing to pay and am open to discussing cost and specifics.

      I prefer UEStudio personally.

        Howdy, Don!

I guess I never thought to use VS for PB stuff. Can you talk to the "Top" few reasons why you want to go that route?

I'm the kind of guy who could use NotePad, so more capable editor's haven't yet caught my attention.

As for writing the extension - does the VS forum have a place you can place the request for a programmer? Someone who has done an extension before might collaborate with you on the task?

I went looking and see the MS has some documentation on writing the extension, but it doesn't look like something one could do quickly the first time. Prior experience would be a plus, it seems.

As an alternative source - I've used FreeLancer several times. Some results were excellent, other's not so good.

George Bleck, thanks for the alternative. I'll check it out sometime.

Gary Beene, all good questions. There's some extensions within VSC that I'd love to try with PowerBasic after having used with other languages. One example would be this one. It's also muscle memory for shortcuts and I'd like to migrate into one tool versus multiple. There are alternatives to posting here looking for assistance on creating this, but I figured I'd give our community first crack at it before looking elsewhere. Thanks for the suggestions and I'll look further into those.

Hallo Don, we have now also a "Open Project" corner in Jose's Forum, here: http://www.jose.it-berater.org/smffo...hp?board=443.0

So you can also post there.

Another tipp: The new JK-IDE from Jürgen Kühlwein beats anything that was available before.

Don, it is doable. I have a base that I have been using for sometime in vscode.. just created a New Language Support (yo) and added the keywords to them. For tasks I added a task.json for build and run.. I have a very simple setup as the Intellisense is complex and not very well documented
