  • Comment on Laplacian Graphics

    Patrice,

thank you for your comment. I think the application is worth it to be improved. I can assure you that the it may work beautifully.
As the source code forum does not allow discussions, please could you give some more info here :

The code will not compile with PBCC 5
I regret this. I am using version 4.04. Could you please let me know which statement or function causes the problem ?
I suppose the compiler did report that.

It does not work from a DOS prompt.
I checked this, and you are right. The application seems to come up normally, but the mouse works in a different mode,
so that nothing can be clicked. The console title bar also changes to Select Laplacian Graphics.
Do you have any idea what can be te reason of this ?
Although the simple solution could be not to start it from a DOS prompt, i agree that this should be corrected, if possible.

It does not work with Vista.
I worried a bit about this too. I am using XP. Could you suggest anything to avoid the problem ?

    Thanks Paul

    Paul,

thank you for your remark about the multiple For..Next loops and the constants. This is very helpful, and i will correct this.

I think the only viable solution would be to move to plain Window mode instead of console.

          Thanks for reply

          Patrice,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately i suppose that moving to Win programming will not be an option for this moment. My actual background is in engineering, and diving into Windows programming would require too much time. So i am afraid that, if console programming does indeed not work properly with Vista, it will be end of story.

            Or does it work ?

Right when writing the previous message, Jerry reported that it may work with Vista. I do not use Vista, and so can not do any experiments, but it seems that there is hope for the future.
