  • PB/CC Edit Crashes when I hit the tab key

I'm running PB/CC Edit 5.00.0085 on Vista Home Premium. When I take the following steps:

    1. Open CC Edit
    2. File/New File
    3. File/Save File As: ProgramName.Bas
    4. Hit the tab key when the cursor is all the way to the left in the home position.

I get a Windows dialog "CC Edit has stopped working. Windows is searching for a solution ..." Then later will ask me if I want to debug or close.

It doesn't matter how many lines I have typed, either zero or any number, but the first time I hit tab the error happens.

When I reload the program I can hit tab from home postion fine with no problems; it's only the first time for a recently saved new module.

Of course, my work-around is to always save before the first tab key but I'd like to know if there is something I can do about this?

You can report it to someone who might actually know what to do: [email protected]

I'm not seeing this behavior here. Perhaps Anti-Virus or Firewall is trying to block the access to the disk and causing it. Mine did prompt the first time I opened the IDE. Perhaps the prompt is hidden too? Too many variables here, but it is a Common Dialog used elsewhere too in other applications.

Sorry, I'm new around here and thought this was the support forum. I'll send it off to the email address. Thanks!

These is not an official support forum. But I can guarantee you that support will ask you the same thing Roger did, do you have any anti-virus or security software running? If so turn it off or boot into safe mode and see if the problem persists.
