There is (apparently) a (free) USB driver source for DOS at freedos.org but it's in Pascal so it'd need converting.

Looking one step beyond just sending/receiving data through the USB port, what sort of devices are you looking at communicating with, Paul? If your goal is to use a USB printer, then you'll likely find that each brand/model uses incompatible, proprietary, and largely undocumented "command languages"... hence Tom's comment above.

Lance, The application would be to add USB capability to an embedded application done in PB.

                USB IN DOS?
                look here
i am getting close to having my cake and eating it too.
just having a little problem with my usb cable coming off the motherboard.
yall give it some trys on some of these drivers.
                www.computing.net/dos/wwwboard/forum/13447.html

also search for these drivers in the files
                duse_4_2.zip
duse_4_4.zip (i believe this is best driver of the 3 by duse(cypress))
                duse_4_9.zip
                mhairu.zip
be sure to pickup that usbaspi.sys driver from those panasonic sites
listed in the above forum site. the site is in japanese and even though i cannot
read any japanese i was able to make the right choices(process elimination). i am
sure those of you can do the same. good luck. i personally need usb hard disk support and
                memorycard(file storage) support.
