How can I obtain information about a computer's modem, network
card, and hard drive/s? Obtaining the make and serial numbers
would go a long way in helping me. Thank you.

Don't think you'll get a modem's serial number, but the make and
model may be available by querying it with one of the "ATI"
commands. Many modems will respond to ATI7 with this info,
but others will simply return "ERROR".
Getting the Disk info depends on whether you are running on
DOS or in a DOS box on Windows. You won't be able to do this
from PBDOS if running on Windows. Here's a site with C source
for both DOS and Windows utilities to get the HDD info: http://www.winsim.com/diskid32/diskid32.html
