    hi all
    has anybody tried this from microsoft?
    i guess it is like vmware's product Workstation
    maybe it is more help for us dos'ers and a new sort of platform to program powerbasic and run our dos programs under.

    sort of!
    i did not know that virtualpc was a previous product of connectix's.
    and virtualpc is was sort of covered, but maybe the moderator can move this messages
    or delete them, but the same question applies, anybody using MS VIRTUALPC.

      Yes, I use it at work. I use it mainly for programs that have compatibility issues with Windows XP. I also use it for testing programs I've created, so if I wreck the virtual image, i can fix it easier. Although we do have Deep Freeze somewhere, I haven't used it in a while. I haven't done a dos image yet, but I may do it next weekend.

        Might I suggest a cheaper alternative for running DOS-based apps? On OS X or under Windows, you might try dosbox, from http://dosbox.sourceforge.net. It seems to be pretty accurate and can run DOS programs under windows that won't run in the normal DOS emulator that ships with XP. Much cheaper than VirtualPC.
