PowerBasic DOS vs QuickBasic

I have just finished modifying a quick basic program.

I added about 50 % more lines of code and removed almost none.
The orginal quickbasic program compiles to 53k and the
modified PB DOS compiled to 41k. Is this normal?
I like it if it is true.
