There are/were a lot of programs to control a DOS PC remotely. One that is still sold is:

If you have the printed manuals, the "simple communications program" on page 211 Chapter 13 of User's Guide is pretty much what you'd need.

What that example shows is sending, receiving and displaying characters.. which is exactly what you are doing.

    Terminal Emulator

I'm looking for a "terminal emulator" program for DOS
which is more a "DOS screen emulator".

It will allow all DOS characters,
    including colours and line-drawing characters,
to be displayed on the remote PC (running the DOS program),
so that the remote screen looks as if it is actually running
a DOS program locally, but isn't.

A bit like a DOS version of the Windoze "remote desktop"...
    Any ideas, folks?
