It has some good stuff on running a SMB client on DOS. Apparently the MS client for DOS has it's own built-in stack, though I don't know how it works. But it can be used to share files across Windows 9x/NT sytems and DOS or DOS/WIN 3.x systems. Sharing files between window boxes is trivial, and after reading a few samba docs, Adding a unix box into the mix is also rather easy. I'm going to try the ms-dos smb client tonight (Called Lan Manager) on my dos emulator in Linux.

Thanks Micheal that would be a great Help.

With ref to my first post, all I need to do is to be able to acces drives on other computers on the network. I'm using a program called DOSNET. Ive tried to load the network driver before windows starts with no luck.

Print sharing is not important but file sharing is.

Are you referring to file/print management, or actually writing networked applications? If it's just file serving, there are clients/servers for the SMB protocol for all three platforms that works rather well. As for programming, I believe there's been some discussion of late about tcp for dos. For windows and linux, of course, it's built in.

Do you mean that you're looking for PB/DOS source code that will allow you to network two or more computers (running different operating systems) together? If so, unless you are talking about very simple things like serial-port-based file transfers, I can't imagine a circumstance where something like that could be written in PB/DOS. Even then, PB/DOS could not be used for the Linux computers.

Can you be more specific about what you need to do?
