How do I make lines of bold print on Screen in the basic mode?
For example, I want the heading to stand out in the text I am writing.

DOS doesn't provide any native font support, so your best bet would be
to make good use of color. For example, if your regular text is white on black,
use bright white on black to indicate "bold". See the COLOR statement
in your manual.

Actually, the old monochrome adapters/monitors did provide bold type, but if you're running on slightly more modern hardware
you'll need to rely on colors. Tom's suggestion to use high intensity colors is what I normally do, and it usually looks great.

"Bold" text on a monochrome adapter is implemented in the same way as for color adapters, via a brighter intensity. The only feature of monochrome adapters that color adapters don't implement is a "color" that means "underlined text". Pity, that...
Oh yeh, in other odd notes: "blinking" doesn't work in a windowed DOS box. It only works in full-screen DOS mode.
