  • Documentation help !!!

Help needed please !!! Recently, I've rediscovered my old PB for DOS cd and well the thing is: where can I find the electronic help files ??? I mean I was expecting the IDE to have a HELP tab but it ain't there ... I just want a full help file containing all Functional Statements with a Command Index where I can browse all available commands, expressions, functions, procedures ( all built-in of course ), giving me detailed info on each of them . Example:

PRINT - I/O function which outputs a string onto the screen. Details : bla bla ...

can anybody help ??? I'd appreciate it

Sure thing... Not a problem at all. Just email a request to [email protected] and they'll respond immediately with a complete set of documentation for you. Just be certain to include your serial number for them so they can verify your registration.

serial number ??? is there such a thing for the DOS version ??? I can't find it on the CD ... was it supposed to arrive on some paper documentation when I ordered it ??? cause if that's the case, I'm afraid I don't have them Cause I won a copy of PowerBasic at a contest and I was a little disappointed too cause it arrived 2 months later ( duh ... ), the CD was a mess ( I had to make 2 precious copies of it just in case it won't be readable for long ) AND I got no documentation or serial, or whatever ... just the CD in a paper envelop. So here we come to another dilemma of mine : on your site, it says that we should receive a 700 pages documentation work or something like that ... was I supposed to receive THAT too ??? if so, I'm getting real upset cause it's the 2nd time I purchase ( this was won but anyway ) a language and I don't receive all that there is to it ( the other one was DarkBasic ) ...
So, what should I do ??? Is there any place I can 'retrieve' my serial number ??? If not, I guess I'll have to learn the commands myself good thing I know QuickBasic huh ?

guess what ... I've inserted the CD in order to look for the serial again and well ... do you remember that I told u the CD was a mess .... if u've guessed it right, you'll know that it blew up into my recently bought DVD-RW ... that's right ...I wish I would have looked for the serial number on one of my 2 backup copies ...... I guess I should thank to the staff at the contest ( 2 years back ) that gave me the CD in this poor condition with NO other materials .... please respond to my above message as I go vacum the computer for remaining CD chunks ...

Well, I guess we should determine who ran the contest and get the serial number from them. What do you think? How can we reach these nice folks?

beats me ... I only know the name of the contest cause it's written on the diploma ... but I don't know the jury or the people who ordered this ... but my school could have it ... I mean I believe it was one of those orders where u get a discount if u buy this software for educational purposes ... but then again I could be wrong ... I'll ask my info teacher tomorrow and see if she knows anything about this meanwhile, I found what I was looking for ( imagine that !!! ) clumsy me just had to press the F1 button in the editor in order to get the help started ... but I was too busy looking for the HELP tab silly me !! sorry for the inconvenience and I'll ask my teacher as I said cause who knows what goodies I might find in that big documentation
