OK, thank you. Knowing there is a limit, you can live with it...

R&D have advised me that the FILE OPEN dialog has a 250 file limit (or thereabouts). There are no plans to extend this limit for the _current_ version of the compiler.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention though, I'll add a note in the Errata thread in the FAQ forum.

Can you still type the name directly into the FILENAME field if it is not listed in the listbox?
Yes, and I can get the missing files to appear, if I limit the search (i.e. change "*.BAS" to "STLI*.BAS").

I'll have to check with R&D... I'm not aware of the limit. Can you still type the name directly into the FILENAME field if it is not listed in the listbox?

Number of files in the File menu Open window

Is there a max limit for the number of files that can be shown in the File menu's Open window ?
I choose "File" and "Open", and the frame with "Open File Name" shows "*.BAS".
Beneath the frame is a scrollable window with 248 files (the last one being "..\"), but my subdirectory contains 276 *.BAS files.
I have searched the doc and this forum but didn't find any mention of this restriction.
This is in PB for DOS version 3.5.
