  • EPSON STYLUS COLOR 740 PRINTER

    ANYONE,

I recently purchased a new Epson printer, my HP(only 2 years old)
gave out on me. I run pb3.5 programs each day that print a page
on printer, then lprint chr$(12), a form feed to eject page.
The problem is, everytime I physically turn off printer, a get
a blank page ejected. This does not happen, if the last page I
print is done through "Windows", only PB3.5, OR QBASIC? Epson
suggests that POWERBASIC my have a fix?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank You,

To expand on Mikes answer slightly... it sounds like you have not included a semi-colon in the PRINT# or LPRINT statement that sends the CHR$(12), ie:
      Code:
      LPRINT CHR$(12)
This sends CHR$(12) followed by CHR$(13,10). These last two characters will be placed into the print buffer ready to appear on the "next" page, hence your additional page of paper.

If you add a semi-colon, you'll avoid sending those two bytes, and you should not get an additional page of paper.
      Code:
      LPRINT CHR$(12);

        MIKE,

Thankyou very much. I have fought this for 5 months. It works
with my pb3.5 program and cc program.

        Yours Truly,

        Brent
