  • PowerBASIC for DOS reduced to $99!

That's right, PowerBASIC 3.5 for Dos is now priced at just $99, with all
documentation in electronic format. A new lower price, and perhaps more
convenience, as well. The entire 2-volume documentation set is now
included in Adobe PDF format. It's easy to use, easy to search, and
provides every bit of information you need to get the most from our Dos
compiler. And, since it's 100% electronic, you can download everything you
need to start programming for Dos today! Of course, the book version is
still available for those prefer that classic format -- A 2-volume printed
manual set, over 700 pages in all, is optional at just $29 plus shipping.

Can I get the Acrobat Manual? I already have the PB3.5 and like the idea of it being searchable! Can you EMail it to me? Can I call and have it EMailed to me?

    This would be fantastic!

remind me of the upgrade price? At one time I had heard that the pb 3.5 upgrade came with manuals. Is this still the case?

The upgrade price (from PB3.x to PB3.5) is also reduced, down to US$49. The upgrade now comes with the PDF documentation too.

As noted, printed manuals are now only available separately.

          Thanks for asking!

Note that these details can be found on the Products ( www.powerbasic.com/products/pbdos ) and Shop ( www.powerbasic.com/shop ) pages...

Does it come with a PDF reader? I guess most people use pbdos under linux, windows, or os/2 these days... Interesting idea, though, shipping a DOS product with PDF documentation. Wonder if there's a good text-mode pdf viewer that can pop up over pb/dos?

Actually, when and if I upgrade, pdf docs would really be ideal for most things, although I perhaps would spend the extra dollars and by the books. Books just can't be replaced sometimes.

Thanks for the continued good work. As someone noted on slashdot awhile ago, PowerBASIC is the only DOS basic compiler still being sold. Shows it's value and quality.

The PDF reader (aka: Acrobat Reader) can be downloaded for free from www.adobe.com - I don't believe there has ever been a DOS version available.

There was a DOS version of Acrobat once, but it has been discontinued,
and the old readers won't read current .PDF files.
