  • Video Problems in QP Pro

I have been having problems getting the menu routines to operate
under SCREEN 12. GetVMode responds with mode% = 3 and MAMenu places
the menu in some alternate universe when attempting to operate in
screen 12. Operation of the PRO routines not requiring video
support are ok. and the software using PB3.5 operate ok under 12.

The problem is the same when using a 486 w/ a Diamond Speedstar
and an Octagon PC 104 pentium computer w/ a Octagon 2133 svga video
    card.

Are you having trouble selecting the menu items or are the
routine(s) not functioning after being selected?

QP Pro's menu routines can't be used in graphic modes.

        Hey,

        1. Buy or download a shareware version of SVGAPB or
        2. I have GWShop Pro or Graphpak from Full Moon Software it's for
Quickbasic but I have the source-codes that you then converted
in PowerBasic code in Modules and Libraries (PBU and PBL)

        Greetings
        Stephane

The graphic routines are not functioning after they have been
loaded. The mouse routines come up with a nice arrow that is under
control but the GetVMode function returns a mode 18 for screen 12.
In fact, all mode replies above mode 3 are 6 counts greater than
would be expected. The mode values are those that are returned
by the chips and Technology SVGA chip. Mode 12 is referred to
as mode 18 on the chip. It appears that the reply obtaained from
graphics chip is not being correctly intrepreted by the PRO
          routines in some cases.

I have experimented with some of the SVGA packages in the
past without too much success. It is possible to do menu operations
such as MAMenu in PB but the results are not seamless.
