    EMS is much more efficient. Large chunks of EMS can be "paged" into memory space that can be directly addressed by a DOS program. With XMS, you have to copy back and forth, so you lose speed. You also lose local memory, since you have to provide buffer space that, in EMS, could simply be part of the paged data area.

    EMS or XMS

    I have notest that EMS scames to be prefered over XMS in
    PowerBasic. Is that so, and why.
    XMS is always loaded, I have always found it ezey to use,
    you have to load EMS to use it.
