Printer Codes vs Epson 800

Will Epson ink jet printers act on ESC codes sent
to them, using PowerBasic/dos? If so, where may one
find those codes & what their functions are?

The Epson User's Guide is of practically no help.

In general, most recent Epson inkjets are Windows-only (GDI) printers. If the spec says "DOS Compatible", then it will work ok. The 800 is old enough to actually be DOS compatible.

As an aside: most all USB printers do not support DOS printing - this is often a good "hint" that you may have problems with DOS apps before you even read the spec's.

The Epson ESCAPE code are available from the Epson UK web site - last I looked they came as a set of large PDF files. See http://www.epson.co.uk/support/manuals/select/escp.htm
