Ah, right, sorry. What had worked for me was
    Code:
    MKDIR "\\SERVER\NAME\FOLDER"
. I had focused on whether UNC can be used instead of mapped network drive and didn't use the same path of the question.

The syntax for an UNC path is "\\server\share\path". You can't use
MKDIR to create either a server or a share-- those must already exist.
You can create the path portion, if you have the necessary rights
to create a path in the \\server\share heirarchy.

It works fine for me. I have PB/DOS 3.5 and Win2K, but i don' t think this makes a difference.
Did you put the double quotes around the path, like in
    Code:
    MKDIR "\\server\name"
    ?

    MKDIR And UNC

    Hi,
I am currently using PBDOS 2.1 and trying to create a folder with a UNC path.
What I am trying to do is this:
    mkdir \\server\name
I am getting an error when doing this. Is there any way(s) around this as I do not want to map the network drive? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Working...
