I asked about Microsoft/not Microsoft, because I don't see a driver for "wheel mouse" in a list of Win98 drivers.
From my own practice - I use electronic keys for LPT': I permanent meet conficts with HP drivers for printers. If to replace HP driver to Microsoft, which is a part of Windows, all works fine and I always recommend customers to replace a driver (what can I do ?).
Also, because I buy for my son enough exotic manipulators, I also saw conflicts between external mouse driver and another software (for example, works perfect under Win95B, but problems under Win98).

But, Ok, are you sure that a mouse driver conflicts only with your software ?

PS. Could be there are new drivers. To find new drivers I like to use http://www.winfiles.com/drivers/
Today I received a message from one customer that all worked under NT4+SP4, but after installation of SP6, my program hangs.
I suggest to replace a driver for keys. And what do you think ? All works again.

    >> you forgot also to say that these are drivers of mice' manufactures, not of Microsoft (right ?)
The POINT32.EXE I was speaking about comes from a Microsoft "Wheel mouse" !

No problem when using logitech mouse.

started a topic Conflicting mouse drivers !

    Conflicting mouse drivers !

For a reason that I do not understand some mouse drivers cause a GPF in my softwares (only large softwares).
If I ask my users to remove these drivers from memory, using 98's MSCONFIG.EXE, everything work like a charm.

    These drivers are:
    POINT32.EXE.
    Micron 4D scroll FX.
I have also a problem with OCRAWR32.EXE from Omnipage.

Do you have any idea of what may cause such troubles ?

I forget to say that I have never had report of such problems with NT, only with 98.
