Adding to a menu

I want to add a menu to a app. that I need not write
ie. Netscape the file menu I want to add MYline and then that would run
my app..
hmmmmm.....

Does Netscape actually support the addition of external menu items (the way Microsoft Word and other programs do) or are you talking about finding your own way of doing it? If the later, it would involve some pretty advanced programming techniques.
