Does anybody know a good source of information or example code that handles ESMPT and EHLO? There is nothing about it in RFC821.TXT. Web searches so far have yielded very little.
If someone uses my nice SMTP mail sending program and they use a ESMTP mail server all sorts of fun begins like:
HELO Error: 220 ESMTP Spoken Here.
I never heard of ESMTP before today. Here is a sample message send:
220 nic.nasa.gov ESMTP Sendmail 8.7.1/1.35 ready at Thu, 28 Mar 1996 06:01:31 -0800 (PST)
