Interesting html idea...

I got to thinking about my help file on Winlog...

Since it's going to be an html based one, perhaps Winlog should have an option to go to my website and pull down the most current .html doc so it is constantly updated....

I saw some html code somewhere for doing this, does anyone have a basic set of HTTP headers that I could use for this without having to print out the RFC?? or maybe some sample code?

if you just need code to go get an html page, dane westvik just posted this in the source code forum:

i don't know html code worth squat, but i have to believe that somewhere in the html data is a date; if not, you could always include a date in the content somewhere and find it.

or am i misunderstanding your question?

Nope, you understood it!!

I thought I had seen that but when I went back I couldn't find it...
I have a small three line script somewhere that outputs the current date, it may be easier to use that if I can find it!!

So I built a sniffer program to see what comes back and here it is:
