    You can find a benchmark at: http://www.thesalmons.org/~jsalmon/pubs/sc98/html/src/

    The code is in c, not powerbasic, but I'm sure can be converted.

    Do you play in Microsoft or Powerbasic team ?

    Seriously, I think that your request is incorrect. It's possible to compare languages in the same weight category.
    For example, PB vs C++. VB vs Delphi.

    Of course, it's difficult to be a fun of VB - slowly compiling, a lot of DLL/OCX in distributive.
    But from another side, if to speak about performance of VB' compiled code, it's not so bad.
    For example, I moved hard calculations from Turbo Basic to VB and didn't notice serious difference.
