  • XMODEM for PBDLL 6.0

I need to send a file using the XMODEM protocol.

Does anybody have any source they'd be willing to part with for implementing this protocol in PBDLL 6.0? I know there are 3rd party tools that will do this, but I'd prefer not having to distribute aby DLLs.

As a last resort I may choose to write the implementation myself. Any information on where to find the specification for it would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ketil

If you check out the PowerBASIC Files section here, you will find technical documentation for Xmodem and other protocols in the Documentation area. I believe one of the terminal programs in the PBDOS Telecomm area includes source code for Xmodem. There may well be others-- dig around.

        Jules & Tom,

Thank you both for very useful information!

I did try, Tom, but a search for 'xmodem' didn't come up with much - probably because the search covers posts only, not files. Will follow your lead and do a 'manual dig'!

          Ketil,

have a look at http://www.basicguru.com/abc/ and search for "XMODEM" it comes up with the X-MODEM definition an QB-source which (claims to) implements that protocol. Havn't tested it, I don't know if it's of any use, though.
