In Windows, precompiled "units" are called DLL's. That said, we have had a number of requests for static linking and R&D are well aware of the level of interest in such a facility.
There are definite advantages and definite disadvantages to each approach (DLLs vs. Static Libraries), but support for Static Libraries would at least give a wider choice to the programmer.
Thanks (again?) for adding your vote to this wish list item.

Units & project again in PBCC & PBDLL
Hi lance, tom
Support and build-in compiled units and projects
in the PBCC and PBDLL.
Compiled units are very fast and you can distributed
this units to an other prohrammer. like PBDOS v3.50
support PBU
Why is that removed, its very interesting for creating
large program's with modules (units) and it work
very fast for the developer and you can hide the code
Geetings,
stephane
