Port traffic recorder?

I'm trying to write a utility to send mail to services like hotmail that use a web interface rather than SMTP/POP3. What I think would speed up this process is if I could record the entire traffic of a session with hotmail into a file, for examination at my leisure. Anyone know of any utility out there that will allow one to do such a thing? In other words, record the traffic (in both directions) of a TCP/IP port on a machine?
