Is it possible to copy a prefab, ready-to-use Dial-up Networking entry to a user's computer?

I think I would get a registry watching program, create a DUN and then watch what changes were made.
One of the problems with a DUN file is that not everybody will be using the same modem or modem properties etc..

That could cause some problems. But I think it's doable to create your own DUN file, there may be some samples on the internet.

And I may be able to dig up a sample if I can find it (It's in C++ tho)..

Additional question:
Has some of you, folks, any knowledge of the program "dunnow.exe"?
It installs a dial-up networking entry, using a 10 Kb file with the
".set" extension. Simple enough. Only: how and with what tool are those
.set-files made?

With copying a prepared file to the registry you can
IMO only adress Win9x users, because WinNT stores
DUN entries in a special phonebook file.

In PBDLL I suggest to use the RAS API to accomplish
that. Go into the files area and search for "RAS"
There are some examples and also a RAS Include file
(from Bob Dickinson) for download.

In other languages (VB, Delphi etc.) I would use an
OCX for that task. Simplier than calling the RAS API.

The .set files are created by Dialup Constructor, from http://www.dialupconstructor.com.

You're right. It seems that the period at the end of the sentence was added to the link url. The url should be http://www.dialupconstructor.com (no period).

To morrow morning my first thing to do is suggesting the company I'm working for to purchase it.

Erwin,
I'll give it a try, but I think it is too complicated for the situation I want it for.
I simply want a working DUN-entry (for W95, indeed - not NT) and copy that to the computer of those
users that cannot make such an entry 'by hand'.

I've downloaded the prog also and checked it out :

Pros :
- Easy to handle
- Tons (!) of features
- Low price

Contra :
- Relativ big download (>600 kb)
- no support for non-english languages

The only problem is: it does not always work!
Therefore I want to create my 'own' routine (see: "Creating a DUN file", started by Scott Turchin, in this forum).
