Smart Cards

I have tried a few. But now they all only supply Drivers and say that
it is PC/SC compatible. so I have to use PC/SC API. which is there with the microsoft
Smartcard toolkit 1.1 but all the samples are in visual basic and
c++ which uses Type library. So I was looking for some samples
in Pb if possible.

Niraj;

You will need the Serial SmartCard reader that is compatible to your
Smart Card you want to interface to. Different OS on each card. When
you buy the Reader you get the SDK with it for the PC/SC API.

Years ago, I played with 3K MemoFlex Memory cards (not so smart) and had to
buy the reader for it ($100USD). It came with a very nice instruction book and DLL.
But this will not work for you. Most Card Readers in the Point-of-Sale
industry are ISO 7816 GSM 11.11 compatible, I think it is GEMCORE ??.
Try locating their website for latest info.

There is an Win32 API from Microsoft.
There are other ways to incract with smartcard through serial port.

But I don't know how...

The Host software that you have for your particular SmartCard, did it come
with a library, DLL or device driver? Or are you saying that M$ added some
new SmartCard API functions to the WIN32 OS?

Has anyone worked on smartcards. There is an API available but
all the samples are in c++.

Has anyone made any application for reading smartcards in PB.
If so can someone give me a lead or any refrence site where
I can find some samples writen in PB.
