  • :confused:Need to load ansi.sys in Windows ME...HELP

I work at Reams Computer Corp in Newport News, VA. We have our own accounting package that we wrote years ago.
But, we need to load a line in config.sys called: DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ANSIS.SYS /x
There is no config.sys. I have tried registry entries, evironment entries, and nothing works.
I have even found a config.sys hidden in the root directory and when i add the line and restart...................it is deleted when it comes back up and it never loaded.

If there is anyone that could help me, I NEED IT!!! I have the customer that cant use the software because of this problem, and Microsoft hasn't sent back any info.

    Thanks Again,

    eric,
me has messed up lots of people. easiest solution would be to get the customer to revert to win98.
    otherwise, check out this posting.
