  • PBDLL60 Version update

I received some weeks ago PBDLL60/PBCC20 update to 1999-07-02 06:00
    All files have this date.
    --------------------------
But PBRES.EXE have been updatet, so I have got the old version?
    Win32api.inc also has 1999-07-02 date.
So this is also old ?

The updated PBRES file was not included in the file set of 07/02/99 update of the compiler, since it was updated subsequent to the last compiler update.

The latest version of PBRES can be downloaded freely from the DOWNLOADS section of the PowerBASIC web site.

I have just visited the site Lance refers to and I downloaded win32api.zip.
I unzipped it, tried winhlp and when I try to click "Find" the programme attempts to write a held file, then crashes with the message to the effect it's an Illegal Operation.
This happened on the last win32api.zip file I downloaded.
Is anyone else having a similar problem?
      Brian.

I think, Brian is confusing 2 different things. Win32api.zip contains all the necessary declare files, such as Win32api.inc. You need to include at least that one in your code in order to address the Windows Api.
Win32.hlp is a Microsoft help file, that supplies information on the Windows API 'engine'.

Indeed, if I try to make a 'word list' I encounter the same problem.
On my machine I also have a version however (same modification date, same file length!) that does not let me prepare a word list. When I start it up, it displays Microsoft's legal information. And yes, there is word list included already, but I don't remember I made that myself, nor do I remember where I got it.
