  • Add a printer wizard

Does anyone know of a way to activate the Add Printer Wizard in the way Point and Print works?

I know the "rundll32.exe shell32.dll,SHHelpShortcuts_RunDLL AddPrinter" method but this does not do what I need.

It appears that there should be a way to hook into the SHELL32.DLL somehow and supply the printer UNC path to start off the printer install but I've just been banging my head against the Microsoft brick wall again.

Thanks, but that just open's the Printers Folder.

I need a way to hook into the "Point and Print" feature that Windows uses. It seems like it should be real simple, just supply an exported function the UNC path to the printer and it starts the add printer wizard...

On the side I have been working on a way to programmatically initiate a psuedo "point and print" method via standardized API calls. I'll release it to the wild once it's tested and works on all platforms.
