Yep you are right, you will need IO.dll (or some other low-level dll) to control/watch a parallel port on a Windows NT system (NT4/2K/XP....Not sure if Vista even knows what a parallel port is ) But a Windows 98 System (95/98...I assume ME) you can access the port directly.
