Life with pointers
Life is one of that ever lasting computer games! Another of my favourites is Core Wars, for the witch I have coded something much time ago: XRK.
Just as a first think, probably you can gain a little something with a #REGISTER NONE and explicitly declaring as REGISTER just the two most used vars (like sum & x, for example).
BTW, if you like experimenting with it, a great Life simulator for Windows is Life32.
It let you save & reload states & cells configurations, proceed step by step, zoom, paint on the matrix, etc.
