PB/Forms button color other than gray

I need to understand how to provide a PB/Forms button color (background primarily) to something other than gray. I do understand I have to use something other than the standard button class to do that, but I don't understand anything at all about the general theory nor the specifics of how to make a new button object which will allow me to change the button color.

Are there forum entries or urls or documents that explain the theory and the specifics?

You could try IMAGEBUTTON or IMAGEBUTTONX.
Alternatively you could use a label with the %SS_NOTIFY style as a work around or temporary solution. With a little creativity with the styles you can make it look and act very similar to a button.

I have been using a checkbox with the %PUSHLIKE style.

What do you mean?
I just tried that but only with XP theming i see a small blue colored border (i used blue).

With theming off i get the ordinary button colors.
