  • Bubble Tooltips in Toolbar

    Hi
Firstly I would like to thank forum contributors for the excellent examples already there for implementing tooltips.
Implementing Balloon style tooltips for the controls on a form works satisfactorily.
I can't work out how to make them appear over the buttons in a toolbar.
    Rectangular tooltips, no problem.
It is not really a big deal for my application, but Balloons look much better.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

It can be done easily by obtaining the handle of the toolbar's tooltip control and changing it's window style, like this:

    Code:
      ' Get tooltip control...
      Local hWndTip As Dword
      hWndTip = SendMessage(hToolbar, %TB_GETTOOLTIPS, 0, 0)
      ' Set balloon style tips...
      SetWindowLong hWndTip, %GWL_STYLE, GetWindowLong(hWndTip, %GWL_STYLE) Or %TTS_BALLOON

        Gary,
Not to be a wise-arse but just from curiosity if
Your bloods worth bottling (That is a compliment in Australia by the way)
is there also a phrase like
Your bloods worth clotting (Just to put someone down or bust on them?)
I was curious....it sounds like a good one to use (depending the company you keep, and how you meant it when you said it )

Well I'd like to know what the heck

          "Nothing succeeds like a Budgie"

          means?

I've always wanted to visit "down under", and want to make sure I understand correctly.....

            Hi Cliff,
The short answer to your question is no.
The long answer is ........ , nope can't think of one.
Anyway, I'll check it with my friends and see if we can get some mileage from it.

            Hey Doug,
To re engineer it for you

"Nothing sucks seeds like a Budgie."

If you make it down this way Doug, I don't think that you will have any trouble understanding things, and you will be more than welcome.

            Best Regards.
