    If you add a couple of lines to the application posted after displaying the captured screen and before the FreeConsole():

    Code:
    szbuffer = "HELP! I'M TRAPPED INSIDE A DOS APPLICATION"
    lresult = writeconsoleoutputcharacter(hConsole,BYVAL VARPTR (szbuffer), 80, 10 * 65536+30, lcount)
    you will see that the conversation is bidirectional...

      i have been trying to accomplish this in windows 2000 professional
      the attachconsole is no available for windows 2000 professional

      has anybody done something similar in windows 2000 because i am stuck and i tried hard to do this in the past with no success, maybe looking in the wrong way or places.


      i did not even know it was available for xp and up until i compiled Chris's code.
