If you just have to do simple copy / paste, I always use PbNote from the samples
with PB/DLL . It loads an ascii file of 48Mb in 45 seconds.
You must mave 128Mb or more memory or it 'll be much slower....

    Editing a large text file

I have created my large ascii data file (600,000 lines or more = 30MB) and I need to copy and paste sections of it.

Notepad can open it but when you click on the file dropdown or Edit dropdown etc nothing happens (as i assume it is going through the whole file first) so i cant copy and paste.

When I try to open it in word it takes up to 6mins to open it.

Does anyone know of a text editor that can handle this size file without these problems?

    Kind Regards
