  • PB In the news?

Interesting, is this our Dave? (Former PB)..
    http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/science....ap/index.html

The design "seemed to be well thought out and I didn't see any reason why it wouldn't work," says David Navarro of the California Energy Commission. "There's a lot out there. It's just waiting to happen."

I don't believe it is the same Dave Navarro, since Dave seems to be too busy with WebGeek Communications to find time to play with a power company!

I recently asked Dave about a certain "Dave Navarro" that plays in a popular US Rock band, but he denied any involvement... (although I have my suspicions!)

That is interesting, Dave quits Powerbasic to pursue a career as
a rock star But uses WebGeek Communications as a cover.

            DAVE NAVARRO IS GOD
I knew there was a reason he left PB!

I've actually received email from "Dave Navarro" the rock star.

Back when PowerBASIC still had the CIS forum, I got a lot of email on CIS asking if I was he. When one such message was posted in the MUSIC forum, he emailed me privately (he was a CIS member) and apologized for all the email.

My wife still finds it amusing when females email me, ..er.., interesting pictures of themselves and ask me to marry them. It amazes me that anyone would believe that the rock singer would be a PowerBASIC programmer.

In Miami there is a popular weather man with the same name and when I went lobster diving a few weeks back, a cashier looked at my credit card and looked at me and said "You don't look anything like you do on TV". Having seen him, I replied "actually, the camera takes OFF 100 pounds."

              --Dave

                Okay, I couldn't resist...

                http://www.google.com/search ?as_q=&num=10&btnG=Google+Search&as_epq=Scott+Wolfington&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=&safe=off

The first link is me... Man I forgot about that article.
LOL!!! Just proves that I **really** am a geek. I wish
I was a rock star though!

"Scott Wolfington, 28, who chose his home in Foothill Ranch,
Calif., in part because Cox Cable was offering high-speed
service in the area, also sometimes feels his connection is
slow. But he has a remedy: "When I feel myself getting
spoiled I make myself spend some time on a 28.8 modem,"
he said. "That's when reality sets in."
