  • IDE Build but not run

    Anyone,

All of a sudden (this morning) the ide did a small, but annoying
twist. When I click on the "Build and Run" toolbar item or press
Control/E (mostly that), PBDLL compiles my program & displays the
results window, but does NOT run the program. It's not this way on
everything, only my largest project. A while ago I ran into a
similar thing, where the IDE would compile and run, but not minimize
itself. Now we're not running at all. If I minimize the IDE and
click on the desktop icon for the program, it runs just fine.

Anybody have any thoughts? Could odd things be happening to the
registry? I'm not writing to it, but I would guess the PBDLL does.

    Thanks,
    Russ Srole

You get that behavior if you are...

    1. Compiling to a named directory other than the current directory
    2. Missing a linked import (i.e., missing a DLL).

Try running the compiled EXE by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer. You'll get a message if missing an import, or the program will run if it's a directory problem.

        Gregery,

Thanks, you nailed it with #2. I just changed the name of the
exe using #compile exe "filename.exe" (not source name).

        Thanks,
