  • maximum length post?

I had some trouble last night with posting my source code. It was very long (100k).
Is there a known limit to the length of a post?
    Kind regards
    Eddy

CGI has a 4k limit as far as I know (and this Board uses CGI Software)

I don't think it's that 'bad' Sven. I zipped my original 100k .bas file, did a BinBas and
that source file was about 43k. This I could post...

Eddy, 100k is really too large to be posted onto this BBS.

It would probably be better to be hosted in the Downloads section (subject to review by PB staff, and the code includes a note specifying the nature of the code as freeware or PD, etc)...

If you would like to zip the code and email it to Tech Support, we'll see what we can do for you.

        Thanks!

          Thanks Lance,
but this time I'm ok. I zipped and then binbas'ed my source code and
          then I could post it.
          Kind regards
          Eddy

I don't like this "BinBas'ed" sources. It's great for REsources (icon, .pbr, pictures).
The reason is very simpel: You can't find such a code through the search engine...

              Yes Sven,
I am aware of that problem and I agree. Most people also like to take
a peek on the source code before they copy, paste and compile the code
on their system. But I didn't see any other solution to get the code
posted. I didn't think of the download section that Lance just mentioned.
