Forgive me, but I don't work with WIN-whatever.. I need to make a
decision about keyboard control strokes that I can use within my
own applications and one of them I really could use is the
<CTRL TAB> key combination, as well as <SHIFT TAB> too.
Right or wrong I've used <SHIFT TAB> for a reverse screen move
keystroke combo for years. I'd like to use <CTRL TAB> for the
inverse of that as a forward screen move laterally to the next
field across the screen as the inverse of the other. For years
I've used <SHIFT TAB> to pop laterally across the screen to
the closest field entry point left of where the cursor currently
is in our menuing .. I used another combo stroke for the
reverse of that, but it suddenly dawns on me that the toggle
with the SHIFT and CTRL keys is far more intuitive to a user,
if there isn't a conflict in that.
However, that wouldn't be such a good idea if the WIN desktop
uses it for something else.
In OS/2 the <ALT TAB> is used for direct desktop manipulation.
It toggles between the last two sessions back and forth, unless
you hold the <ALT> key down and tap the tab key while doing so.
If you do that in OS/2 you ratchet between a header bar that
indicates each of the sessions on the desktop in order. You
can roll around the entire session roster that way in OS/2.
Would someone confirm for me if <SHIFT TAB> and <CTRL TAB> are
taken for WIN workings?
Thank you..
