    Most email servers require you to identify yourself as a legitimate sender. This is accomplished in different ways on different servers, but most of the time its simply a matter of sending your account name and password before you try to send the email.

    The SMTP.bas program is intended mainly to show how the basic email process works, but with the huge spam problems, email has changed considerably. You should be able to print the error message you get back and decipher what information the server is looking for.

    Hello,

    I get the error 421 while I want to send an email using the sample program
    "SMTP.bas" ???

    I`m connected with an router over LAN to the internet an I`m using Win Vista.

    Any ideas ?
