  • SMS messages through wireline modem

For an existing application I need to add SMS receive and sending capabilities using the ETSI 201-912 standard. (1200 baud FSK through analog wireline)
Has anybody already accomplished this? The sending / receiving isn't that difficult, but what exactly must be sent or received puzzles me. (For some reason, standards are always very long and hold little useful or understandable information...)
Any additional info or code is very welcome!...
    Regards,
    Peter

Don't know if you're comfortable with a 3rd party library (COM). If so, try for example http://www.activexperts.com/activsms/howto/gsm/vb/.

What about using an email gateway? I think most wireless providers provide an email alias for each subscriber that can receive text messages.

        Thanks,

If nothing else pops up, I'll try the COM product. (Only use them if I really can't do it otherwise; don't like COM...)

Email isn't an option. All SMS messages must be collected on a central computer. And sending emails is more costly then SMS. (We're talking a lot of messages...)
