  • Resource$ and version info

Is it possible to retrieve resource version info with Resource$?
(or do I have to use the old fashioned way with GetFileVersionInfo...)
    Regards,
    Peter

No, have to use GetFileVersionInfo. Else, a simple way can be to set and get version number (or whatever) with ENVIRON / ENVIRON$, like:
    Code:
ENVIRON "MyVersion=5.01" ' set value, good place to do it is beginning of PBMAIN.
      ? ENVIRON$("MyVersion") ' read value anywhere in program - returns "5.01"

From within, or info in another file?

Mention of RESOURCE$ in question suggests (to me) from within.

If GetFileVersionInfo does what it is supposed to, that does not make it "old fashioned", just done right the first time.

I think Borje answered the question. ENVIRON$ for from within.

      Cheers,
      Dale
