Is there a way to XPRINT white text on a blue background? And set the width and height of the background - like a cell header.

      Hi Gary
But how do you get white text into the box?

Calculate the size of the text with XPRINT TEXT SIZE.
Decide on the location of the text.
Determine the size and location of the box you want around the text.

XPRINT the box, reset the print position with XPRINT SET POS, set the print color with XPRINT COLOR and XPRINT the text.

          Thanks Stuart,

Is it actually painting over the blue box or is it smart enough to not paint the white text?

You need to think about how a "host-based (Windows-only or GDI-based) printer" [to quote Help] works.

The printer driver builds the page in memory and then prints it using its own methods. It doesn't physically print individual page elements separately.

So no, it doesn't try to "physically print a blue box" and then "physically print white text". The color of each pixel of the print image is determined by what was last written there.

              Clarke,
When you use XPRINT COLOR you set the FG and BG for printing. You can set the BG to transparent if you wish.

It works very much like a Graphic control works.

You can also XPRINT a BMP or GRAPHIC CONTROL that is your page.
Put whatever you want on your GRAPHIC CONTROL and print it.
