    Well I forget to say:

dvBTree works also with VB and there is a VB5 demo available.
(Thanks to Michael "wild bear" who wrote the VB5 demo)

Just in case you need it.

There is a special version of dvBTree working with the
    Microsoft PDS 7.1 compiler.

Both DOS and Windows dvBTree versions are compatible.

If you are already a dvBTree user, you can get the DOS version
    for free.

The dvBTree "registered user area" has been updated with
both dv32zl20.dll and the ZLIB.BAS example that shows how to use
    the compression routines.

    Mike,

You already have the DV32ZL20.DLL compression library don't you?
And you also have the ZLIB.BAS example, don't you?

If both answers are YES, then you have it already.

    Regards

    Hi, Patrice

    Note: (winlift user site)
I'm assuming you will update your site, to reflect the
new files. Currently, the download is still dated back
in March and doesn't contain the new features you just
    talked about!

Just wanted to know if you were going to update this file
or do I have everything that is current?

    Thanks

Now dvBTree is available with dv32zl20.dll that performs
data compression with the same ratio than ZIP files.

    And the good news is:
the price for dvBTree will stay unchanged ($100).
(dvBTree is provided with its full PB/DLL source code)

I agree it is an excellent product.
    Wishlist:
1 One call to handle multiple files and indexes
    (a data dictionary)
hfile = handle to the file
    Index number desired
Action = Get next, Get previous, etc
    TheKey$ Data returned
    Ecode = Getit(hFile,IndexNumber,Action,KeyData)
2 Extend the index manager to get data from a file.
3 Incorporate compression techniques you have
    demonstated to record level compression.

Just want to let you know that there is a special version of dvBTree that is mixed with dv32zl20.dll to achieve the same level of compression found in WinZIP and ZAP Image solution.

If you want to know more, please send a email at:

DVBTREE demo has been updated with the new BTREEX.BAS example.

It shows how to use UDT members or the MID$ function to read from a large buffer.

    You can download it at:
    http://www.zapsolution.com/winlift/index.htm
    then press the "demos" button.
