  • Listing of Program Variables and ...

Can someone recommend a program that will generate a listing of all program variables, subroutines, functions, and other good stuff for PowerBasic programs? I wish PowerBasic would come with a built-in tool for generating program stats, but ...

I'd also appreciate any recommendations for a better editor and, also, for a program that allows you to compare versions.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Check the JellyFish Pro Editor + Lynx Project Explorer combination!

    Bye!

I second Marco's suggestions (especially Lynx Project Explorer) and will add:

PBCodec - source code checker by Borje Hagsten and others.

ExamDiff (Freeware) - compare different source files.

Also here are a couple of highly configurable editors:

      UltraEdit (Often recommended here).

      EditPlus (My favorite).

        To Marco & Dave -

Thank you very much for your suggestions. They're a great start.

I'll need some time to try them out, but I will get back to you with my comments on the various programs.

Most of the time I use Jellyfish as well, but you should also check out Jose's Sed Editor http://com.it-berater.org/sed.htm
          and PsPad http://www.pspad.com/

          All are very good editors.
"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

ExamDiff -- excellent suggestion. Wish I had known about this before. I decided to go for the pro version (ExamDiff Pro 3.5) for the additional capabilities.

              Thanks, Dave.

                Code Mapper

This program helps you see the structure of your program as in who calls who in what order etc.
