  • QHTM Headers

For those interested, I have posted in my forum an updated translation of the QHTM header:

    http://www.jose.it-berater.org/smffo...p?topic=3132.0

Attachments are only visible to registered members.

QHTM, by GypsySoft, is a Windows HTML control that allows to place HTML content on any window, any device context, on a report, on a button or even in a tooltip.

QHTM is written entirely in C++ and does not rely on MFC, nor does it need IE installed. Instead QHTM uses direct Win32 API calls which makes it very fast and very light.

There is a free version can be used in freeware but not in commercial software.

    Jose,

I have a question about downloading your API headers.

I have tried many, many times to download your latest API header zip file and every time the download terminates part way. I have gotten as much as 4 or 5 meg downloaded and the download ends and when winzip tries to open the file it gives an error (likely because the file is corrupted because it is not complete).

Is there a setting in IExplorer that could cause this ?

I have no problem downloading stuff from other sites.

I have downloaded it right now, both using FireFox and IE7, without problems. Are you using a download accelerator?

I can send it to you by mail if you want, if your inbox accepts attachments of more than 6 Mb.

          I have Internet Explorer 7.0

No I don't have any download accelerators installed.

I am using Defender Pro anti-virus software.

I just tried downloading using FireFox and that does not work either.

I have downloaded much larger files from other web sites, but it seems I can't download from your forums.

            Jose,

It was only recently that I even heard about QHTM, while looking at the TinyHelp application by Paul Noble.

That made me look around and there appears to be several similar production.

Since you have some experience in this area, can you comment on QHTM's leadership in this product area?

            Thanks,
            Gary

I have posted my translation of the QHTM headers as a service to the members of this forum and my forum, some of which seem interested in it.

I personally don't use any HTML third-party library, but an embedded instance of the WebBrowser Control (the one that uses Internet Explorer) and MSHTML (Microsoft HTML Object Library).

The only advantage of QHTM over using the WebBrowser Control is that it is simpler to use to these with no experience with low-level COM programming.

One (major) advantage is that it can draw it's contents on any DC.

If QHTMl would support Javascript with callbacks to the windows application and still use the HTTP protocol to allow webserver interaction that would be soooooo cool Some sort of hybrid windows / web application could be created.
So here we are, this is the end.
